- Get a soft measuring tape. If you don't have one, you can use a string or a piece of ribbon and measure it with a ruler. See photo above.
- Place the measuring tape or string around your head, just above your eyebrows and ears. Make sure the tape is at the widest part of your head, which is usually just above your ears and eyebrows.
- Pull the tape or string snugly, but not too tight, around your head. It should be firm against your skin, but not so tight that it's uncomfortable.
- Make a note of the measurement in centimeters. If you're using a string or ribbon, mark the spot where the string meets and then measure the string with a ruler to determine your measurement.
- Use your head measurement to determine your hat size. Different hat manufacturers may have slightly different sizing charts, but generally speaking, a head circumference of 53.5 to 56 cm is a small size, 56 to 58.5 cm is medium, and 58.5 to 61 cm is large. If you're between sizes, it's usually best to size up.
- Note: If ordering on line, it is advised to order a hat with 1cm ease. If your head measures 57cm order a 58cm hat.
- It is best to try on the hat to make sure it fits properly. The hat should be snug but not tight, and it should sit comfortably on your head without slipping or sliding around.
Remember, if you're buying a hat online, it's important to measure your head before ordering to ensure a proper fit. If you are not sure, please contact us and we can help you.
